Functional Appliances

Functional appliances are used to correct overbites by guiding the lower jaw in forward growth during key growth years in childhood. A functional appliance applies forces to the upper and lower jaws to promote better alignment of the jaws. Functional appliances can be both removable or fixed, depending on your child's specific treatment needs.
