Meet Dr. Shauna Shafai

Dr. Shauna Shafai was born and raised in Los Angeles, growing up in Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica. She attended The George Washington University for her undergraduate studies before returning home to California to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UCLA School of Dentistry. She then completed her postdoctoral training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Southern California and Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles.

During her residency, Dr. Shauna cared for children of all ages, including those with medically complex and special healthcare needs. She gained extensive experience in dental trauma and full-mouth dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia. She also authored a research paper on local anesthesia that is in the process of getting published! She is passionate about providing evidence-based, conservative care while making dental visits feel comfortable and positive for both children and their families. She especially enjoys getting to know her patients and watching them grow from one visit to the next.

Outside of the office, Dr. Shauna loves spending time with her husband, Jon, exploring Los Angeles and going to concerts at the Hollywood Bowl. She also enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and attempting to grow fruit trees on her balcony—so far with varying degrees of success!
